Applying for Readmission to Providence College

Students who have attended the undergraduate day school, but who have voluntarily withdrawn from the College, may apply for readmission. There are several steps (see below) in the readmission process; those who hope to be readmitted must follow these steps carefully.

Please note that this process is reserved for students who have withdrawn voluntarily from the College. Students who were dismissed for academic reasons may appeal to the Committee on Academic Status for reinstatement, as outlined in the Academic Policies section of the College Catalog.

Step One: Readmit Application

Whether or not you have taken courses at another institution since withdrawing from the College, the first step is to complete our Application for Readmission. Once completed, this application will be routed directly to the Student Success Center (SSC). Please note that the application deadline for a fall semester return is August 1st. The deadline for a spring-semester return is December 1st.

Those who have taken courses at another institution since leaving PC should proceed to Step 2.

Those who have not taken courses at another institution since leaving PC should proceed to Step 4.

Step Two: Verification of Good Standing Form

If you have taken courses at one or more institutions since withdrawing from Providence College, you must have an official from each institution submit a Verification of Good Standing Form directly to Susan Albert (salbert@providence.edu) in the SSC.  Forms that are not submitted directly to the SSC from each institution will not be accepted.

Step Three: Submit Original Transcript(s)

Those who have taken courses at other institutions must also submit original transcripts for those courses, including any that may be in progress, to Susan Albert (salbert@providence.edu) in the SSC. Transcripts may be submitted electronically or by regular mail, but they must be submitted directly from the institution or institutions that you have attended. Once all transcripts are received, they will be reviewed by the Office of the Registrar and the Associate Provost for possible credit toward your PC degree. Transcripts that are not submitted directly to the SSC will not be accepted or reviewed.

Once your transcripts and your Verification of Good Standing Form(s) have been submitted, you should await further communication from the Student Success Center.

Step Four: Clear Holds

All applicants for readmission should contact Susan Albert (salbert@providence.edu) in the SSC to see if there are any holds on their account.  All holds must be cleared before the student can be readmitted.

Step Five: Enrollment Deposit

If your application for readmission is approved, you will receive a welcome letter that includes your graduation date, as well as information about registration and housing. Along with the letter, you will receive an enrollment deposit form, which you must sign and return with a check for $450.00, made out to Providence College. The form and the check should be mailed to the following address: Susan Albert, Phillips Memorial Library Room 203, Providence College, 1 Cunningham Square, Providence, RI 02918. Upon receipt of your enrollment deposit, you will be reactivated as a Providence College student. Congratulations, and welcome back!
